Prince George, B.C. – The B.C. Real Estate Association is forecasting a positive 2013 for home sales in Prince George and the rest of northern B.C.
The BCREA says Prince George will see a 29% increase in new home starts (single detached) next year and the average price of a single detached home will increase 2.4% to $258,000.00
Northern B.C remains one of the strongest performing housing markets in the province because of investment in the oil, gas and mineral extraction sectors. It also points to a recovering forest industry as shipments to Asia increase and the U.S. housing market improves.
Throughout the Northern region sales are expected to have increased by 5.4 this year and a further 10% in 2013.
The BCREA predicts the average home price in the Northern region will increase 3% in 2013 to $241,000.
