Health Link App Updated

Sunday, October 28, 2012 @ 3:47 AM
Prince George, B.C.- Looking for health services in a B.C. community? There’s an “app” for that.

The B.C. Government has just updated its health services locator app to included medical lab service providers.

First unveiled in February of this year, the app has been downloaded from the iTunes App Store 7,000 times and has received a 4.5 out of 5 star rating from those who chose to submit a review. The reviews include such comments as “Great tool”, “Very convenient” and “Love this app” although one never knows exactly who made the comments.

The app will help you find services such as hospitals, emergency rooms, immunization clinics, after-hours pharmacies and walk in clinics using you iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.    The health services are pin pointed on a map and include details of the services provided, hours of operation, contact information and the address. This will be particularly useful for anyone needing medical treatment while travelling in B.C. or patients travelling to the lower mainland for medical appointments or treatment.

The app also provides users with instant access to HealthLinkBC at 8-1-1 for non-emergency health information and 7-1-1 for hearing-impaired assistance.

There is no cost to download the app which can be accessed here.
