Prince George, B.C. – Prince George Regional Provincial Traffic Services is advising motorists to slow down significantly in light of the current snowfall.
Highway conditions are deteriorating in all directions out of Prince George, and that has led to accidents on Highway 97 North and 16 West. At about 4:45 pm the RCMP and Fort George Highway Rescue were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident 10 kilometres north of Bear Lake. Initial reports indicated a truck and trailer went off the highway and into the ditch. It is unknown whether there were any significant injuries there. One of the occupants was reported to be a toddler.
Meantime around 5:10pm police were sent to a location near Bednesti to investigate an incident involving two trucks of unknown description.
Again, police say highway conditions are deteriorating and motorists are advised to take appropriate action.

Yup..When I move here a few years ago I was riding on a set of 3 season radials, that quickly changed. Now I switch to studs every winter.I gotta say though I get a pretty good chuckle when stopping to assist an SUV or 4wheel drive truck in the ditch.
looks like we’re off to a great start on a lack of road maintenance
Talking to a lady who moved up from Vancouver. This is the first year she has got winter tires on her car. “I couldn’t believe the difference they make!” she told me.”I can stop, steer and go!”
