What a weird sensation to feel the house going back and forth and to see the blinds moving on their own!!! Haven’t felt one like that since I was a kid on Van. Island.

quakes are only ‘interesting’ when they are light, far away and do no damage.
Any of those 3 things changes, and they go from ‘interesting’ to deadly.
Thank the Lord that this one was just in the ‘interesting’ category.

We felt nothing at our place but others did in the Hart:)

USGS has just updated the quake to 7.7 and recorded a 5.8 aftershock. Glad I am not in Prince Rupert or on the north end of Vancouver Island. There will certainly be more heard about this.

Chandeliers were rocking in Fort St John and the shaking has been felt in Edmonton.

Yup, up the hart here; felt it for several seconds. I remember feeling the shaking when they had the huge quake in Alaska in the 60’s.

I certainly felt it, was sitting in my office chair, felt a bit queezy, looked up, my office door was swaying. I wasn’t sure what it was, then I realized things were moving around me. My door was swinging back and forth about 3 to 4 inches.

Yes my daughter said she just thought she was suddenly dizzy, but didn’t notice anything else. I didn’t notice at all! I’m living in the bowl, Lakewood area. There are many of my friends that felt it, though, from the lower and upper coast and all the way in between here and there.

Maybe I’m just used to feeling off kilter? Lol
