Saturday, October 27, 2012 @ 8:42 PM

Prince Rupert. B.C.- RCMP  in Prince Rupert  have just announced a Tsunami warning has been issued for the west coast, in the wake of a 7.1  earthquake that was centered  41 kms south of Sandspit on Haida Gwaii.

Residents along the coast,   are advised to   head to a point  at least 22 metres above sea level.  In the case of Prince Rupert  that would be "above the  5 corners intersection."

The quake could be felt  all the way  east to McBride, and south to Quesnel.

Residents in McBride say it was  like "standing in an  aluminum boat  on the water and trying to  get your balance."

At this  point there  has been no word on any injuries or damage.

I heard about it on the national news – never felt a thing here —

I felt it up on the hart.

Hopefully the tsunami doesn’t materialize.

Our chandaliers were swaying quite a bit in College Heights.
