Prince George, BC – Fire has destroyed a shuttered planer mill in the community of Cranbrook…
According to the Cranbrook Daily Townsman, firefighters remain on the scene this morning, after the blaze broke out late last night at the Tembec planer mill. Fortunately, there are no reported injuries. The mill had been closed back in 2010.
The fire is the 5th involving a BC mill this year. In January and April, explosions and fires at sawmills in Burns Lake and Prince George killed four people and injured a number of others. There were also fires at two sawmills in the Lower Mainland this past spring and summer.
