Dawson Creek- The school buses are not running in the Dawson Creek area as strong winds combined with freezing rain on the roads has forced the cancellation.

The call came this morning as strong winds with gusts hit Dawson Creek and Chetwynd.

A tractor trailer roll over forced the closing of highway 97 north of Dawson Creek early Sunday evening. The roll over took place just after 6.30pm. But it took several hours for the rig to be up righted and removed from the ditch. It was not carrying a load and there were no spills.

Haida Gwaii also was hit with heavy winds which reached speeds of upwards of 80 kilometres an hour causing many power outages.
