Prince George, B.C. – As Branch 43 of the Royal Canadian Legion prepares to move to its new home at 1116 – 6th Avenue, it is also looking at ways to revitalize the organization.
Members of Branch 43 are working on developing a new business model for the Legion. “ Sale of the old Legion building has pumped new vitality and new ideas into our organization,” says Branch President Bruce Gabriel.
The Legion has embarked on a market survey, testing the waters of what members of the Branch and the community would like to see in the “new” Legion.
The survey ( which can be accessed here) asks questions about the Legion’s image and frequency of use by members or the general public. It also poses numerous questions about meal service including when the kitchen should be offering meals, and what should be on the menu.
Gabriel says the survey is part of a project that is “future focused”. The final plan for the revitalized Legion will be presented to Legion members once the survey has been completed and the results integrated into the overall plan.
The deadline for submitting completed survey’s is November 21st. For those who don’t want to fill in one online, hard copies are available at the Legion’s current home on 7th Avenue. “Everyone is welcome to offer their thoughts by picking up a copy and completing the survey” says Gabriel, “We really value member and citizen opinion.”
The Branch is planning to move to its new home in May of 2013.

Seems to me that a few years ago the Elks moved from 6th Ave. to the Legion building on 7th.
It now appears that the Legion is moving to 6th Ave. Are the Elks going to follow???
Someone wanted the Legion property for some reason. Wonder what it is?????
Dunno. If city council has it’s way they will probably tear it down. Maybe downtown will look like Saskatchewan soon. You know, where you can watch yer dog run away for three days.
