Prince George, B.C.- They said they wanted to do something special to mark Breast Cancer Awareness month, so Firefighters Mike Holliday, Kip Skaar and Sherrie MacIvor planned to sell some pink T-Shirts to folks in the communty throughout the month of October.
They had hoped they would sell 500 shirts, but they nearly doubled that goal, selling 920 shirts and raising $6796.52 for the CIBC Run for the Cure.
"We had a lot of help from the citizens and corporate Prince George" says Holliday, who says stores and businesses got on board the campaign and sold shirts for them to staff and customers.
"This is a significant donation" says Run for the Cure Prince George organizer Rene McCloskey. "This donation will put our 2012 run over the $90 thousand dollar mark, it is very much appreciated."
