Strong Rep From Region At BC Aboriginal Awards

Vancouver, BC – A number of businesses from across Northern BC figured prominantly in this year’s BC Aboriginal Business Awards…

Premier Christy Clark and BC Achievement Foundation Chair, Keith Mitchell, announced the winner’s of the 4th annual Awards earlier this month, but the honourees will be celebrated at a gala ceremony in Vancouver next week.

The 2012 Business of the Year Award has gone to Taba Enterprises Ltd. of Fort St. James, while Duz Cho Logging Ltd. of Mackenzie was selected Community-Owned Business of the Year.  In addition, four regional enterprises received Outstanding Achievement Awards in their respective categories:  Falcon Contracting Ltd. in Prince George, Bizzybody Events of Fort St. John, Kyahwood Forest Products of Smithers, and Black Diamond Cygnus of Fort Nelson.

"The British Columbia Aboriginal Business Awards showcase the continuing positive impact Aboriginal business has on British Columbia’s economic development," said Premier Clark.  "The young people, businesses, joint ventures, and community-owned endeavours recognized (sic) exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit of the Aboriginal Community."
