Tree of Lights Celebration
For 25 years, the Tree of Lights has been the visual measure of the Christmas spirit in Prince George. click on photo for video of this evening’s event
Prince George, B.C. – The annual Tree of Lights Campaign came alive with music, treats, a rapelling Santa, a laser light show, and of course, the official lighting of the tree that sits atop the Coast Inn of the North.
This is the first time all the lights will be illuminated on the tree until the campaign comes to a close before Christmas.

Between now and then, strings of lights will be lit as a show of what has been collected and how close the campaign is to reaching its goal. Each bulb represents a $5 donation to the campaign which has a goal of $50 thousand dollars this year.
The funds raised will be used not only to provide Christmas hampers to those in need, but to support the Salvation Army’s programs throughout the year.

Love it! Now THIS is an example of why I love my city. Santa propelling down one of our oldest hotels to kick off the good works of one of my favourite charities. Despite the warts, my city can have fun, is unique and is very generous. uh oh, gettn’ the warm and fuzzies! Christmas must be coming….
Love the tree, but The Coast Hotel is looking pretty dated… or is it retro?
Very nice! :)
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver looks dated too …… time to tear it down and rebuild …. ;-)
PG City Hall looks dated too …. time to take the new City Corporate look used for the new City Police Building and rebuild City Hall.
The Fairmont is a nice building, it doesn’t even compare to the Coast… but I understand your point.
