CNC Back to Normal Tomorrow

Wednesday, November 21, 2012 @ 4:17 PM
Prince George, B.C.- Classes will resume at all College of New Caledonia campuses tomorrow morning.

CUPE local 4951 has advised the College that picket lines will not be in place tomorrow.

“All college classes, programs and services at all 6 CNC campuses will resume Thursday at regularly scheduled times,” said Randall Heidt, CNC Director of Communications and Development.

The college has extended its fee payment deadline for the January semester to Friday Nov. 23 at 4 pm because of the job action.

Meantime, the CEO of the Post-Secondary Employers’ Association, Anita Bleick, has called on the union to return to the bargaining table. “"The PSEA is prepared to come back to the table with a reasonable offer, but unions in this sector need to be willing to stretch if they want to meet the expectations of their members” said Bleick in a statement released earlier today.

1 more month and the Mayans are coming back…

“unions in this sector need to be willing to stretch if they want to meet the expectations of their members”. Anybody actually know what the hell this means?

After four years of wage stagnation and buying power lost to inflation, I suspect the the members expect their union to negotiate a raise in pay.

Darned good rhetoric by Ms. Bleick… totally meaningless drivel…
