Prince George, B.C. – One person suffered serious injuries in a motor vehicle accident late Friday afternoon north of Salmon Valley.
Officials with Prince George Regional Provincial Traffic Services say the vehicle rolled on the Salmon Valley Forest Service Road. The lone male occupant was pinned in the wreckage and had to be extricated by Fort George Highway Rescue crews. The extent of the victim’s injuries is not known, although one police spokesperson says he was alive but in bad shape when placed in an ambulance for transport to University Hospital of Northern BC.
The 65-year-old man’s name has not been released.
Police in the Prince George area had advised that highways and secondary roads became extremely slippery after melted snow froze heading into Friday evening. They stress the importance of driving according to road and weather conditions.
