Prince George, B.C. – Investigators today are expected to shed more light on Friday’s discovery of two bodies in a residence at Moberly Lake, near Chetwynd.
Regional Coroner Donita Kuzma says she will be sitting down with officials with the RCMP North District Major Crime Unit in Prince George today to discuss information gathered to this point. T
he assistance of the unit was requested by Chetwynd RCMP, which responded to a report Friday morning of two deceased persons found in the Moberley Lake residence. RCMP Forensic Identification Services and the BC Coroner’s Service were also brought into the investigation.
Late Friday afternoon North District Media Relations Officer Constable Lesley Smith stated that the investigation was confined to that residence, adding “public safety is not at risk.” It is not known whether the case involves homicide or suicide, but that is expected to be clarified by Coroner Kuzma later today.
As of Friday, relatives were being notified of the deaths of the two people found in the residence.
