Williams Lake- The voters in the Cariboo Regional District have voted overwhelmingly in support of the City of Williams Lake providing fire protection services in the regional district.

The preliminary results of the vote were 978 in favour while, 30 were opposed to the program.

The Cariboo Regional District Williams Lake fringe Fire protection area referendum was held on the weekend to determine if area residents wanted to continue with the service .
