The Martins Left Their Mark In Prince George

It was put the best by former Councillor Brian Brownridge when he said on the passing of Anne and Bob Martin, “they were one hell of a team”, and so they were.
Bob Martin who passed away Monday night and his wife Anne, who passed away just a couple of weeks ago, shared their lives for 52 years. They worked, played and shared the same passion for the city of Prince George. While it is very sad to say it, their bond lasted not only through their life but into the hereafter.
Bob entered politics at a time when if you served on council, you didn’t expect much money, were expected to give up any spare time and were expected to set aside any of your political views and aspirations when making a decision that affected this city. The place ran like clockwork and the Martin’s can share in the glory of what they got done.
I remember Bob best as an instructor at CNC, when I couldn’t get a piece for my boat I could always count on Bob to fashion it for me. Bob loved the out of doors and so did Anne. They both had a passion for gardening.
They both also shared the same political views, but never let them get in the way of making a decision which was good for this city.
It is sad to say that another chapter in the history of this city has been written, two people gave as best as they could to try and make this city a better place to live and raise your family in. Their efforts are all around us.
I’m Meisner and that’s one man’s opinion.

Sadly missed but happy ending. Two weeks apart for a couple joined at the hip. I hope the same for me and my wife. RIP

Prince George was lucky to have them. May they rest in peace together.
