Getting the kids back from the welfare folks for the next ten years oughto keep them out of trouble. Ya don’t or can’t mess with government when it comes to yer kids. Lesson learned? Hmmmmm?

Yes, they should certainly have to prove beyond any doubt that they have completely changed their ways before they get their kids back, but the poor kids in the meantime. Don’t wish ‘Ministry’ care(less) on any kids.

about ready to sell drugs too. All the increases in tax got me workin to much overtime. If we are not careful with our cash might be not able to retire till 80 let alone raise 3 kids. LOL

Tax increases?

It disgusts me that some parents think its okay to raise their children in criminal atmospheres. The kids are the ones who suffer!!!

Let’s see, kids in Ministry’s care, visitation, probably supervised, more free time= more drug sales to supplement welfare cheque, song and dance the lawyer for legal aid, called making a profit off our backs.
And maybe, Just Maybe, 3 squares and a bed for couple months.
And you wonder why police get frustrated….

your right slim, but we live in a make believe world, believing that everything will be alright.

Something is wrong in our society,we need to start dealing with the drug dealers. We have to give the RCMP few shades of grey on these matters. We need to give the judges more power to penalize this cancer growth in our community.

If it was me, strike one, is bad, don’t do it. Strike two. two months in a work camp. Strike three… Kaboom.

omg, are you guys ever out of touch with reality.

No one, and I mean no one willingly decides to go into the drug trade for fun and profit.
It is a result of their environment. They may have tried the above board life, but found their skills were lacking or they just don’t know any better due to family history.
Sometimes they are fooled by dollar signs in their eyes. The reality of this street level dealing is a poor existence where supplementing a welfare cheque with this endeavor as it is accessible to them. That is the key, accessibility. Unless and until the poorest in our community are included, encouraged, and trained, this illegal business shall continue.

If you want to kill the drug trade, you must first deal with ALL the issues around it. Most of those issues are lack of education and training, and just being financially poor.

So if you want to sit in your comfy computer chair in your home office slamming on these people. go and hire some and encourage all you know to do the same. Then maybe, just maybe we can reduce the number of those tempted to the trade to avoid it.

Cheese

If you want to kill the drug trade then all of the hypocrites need to stop using drugs while they sit on their computers and talk about how bad drug dealers are.

Sorry Loki, but you are the one that is completely out of touch with reality!. I have knowns some people who have gotten into the drug trade. They did if for the profit. They were educated and had an above board life, but they just got greedy and wanted to make a quick buck!

Your comments makes me think of the sad reality that there are far too many bleeding hearts making excuses for the bad decisions and bad behaviours of so many in our society. Many of the people making these excuses are gainfully employeed in our welfare, counselling and social service “industries”.

Some bleeding heart is always available to defend these bad behaviours. How many times have we heard “it’s not their fault”! Stop defending and making excuses for the bad decisions and the bad choices that people make. It’s time that our society got back to holding people RESPONSIBLE for the decisions and choices that they make!

Nuff said!

Who knows, maybe they were awesome parents.

Social workers kill me! They do it for profit and the goof bad guy image. They still come out looking like goofs in the reds and pink underwear.
Then, it’s like, I don’t like my gang anymore….

I have to agree with this. It’s about making a quick buck. High risk, high reward. Let’s stop making lame excuses for these guys.

There are places for ppl like this bunch, guns and coke,,,,jail em for 7-10yrs…see they get out do it all over again….

Loki, what colour of glasses do you wear? Amazing.

i have known people in that exact position, people have to do what they need to do to support their family without being a welfare bum. you can not support a family of 5 people on welfare anymore. i didnt see any violent crimes in the charges just alot of grasping at straws charges.

In what year could one support a family of 5 on welfare ?

I understand why parents make these choices, but it doesn’t make them good parents. To me it’s bad parenting to choose a criminal lifestyle. I know how tough it is! I’m a single parent who could use a lot more income. I barely make ends meet! You don’t see me selling drugs to get by. I’m still disgusted with drug dealing parents, whatever their excuse and situation. I can’t believe some people are defending these dope dealers.

I also know people wth degees who have turned to growing pot. Not a serious crime as the police would have us think—they would rather bust grow ops than real drug dealers because real drug dealers have real weapons and they shoot back — or –the other side is that the RCMP are involved in real drugs for profit. Hmmmm

Life is about choices, unfortunately, some parents are making these choices for the kids. But a young adult with a reasonable sense of good vs bad, should have enough smarts to break this chain.

So next time you see a kid with a bad history, wanting to do good, give him/her a bit of a break and see what they do with the opportunity. keeping your guards up all the time of course.

Single pay no support, good paying job, still working paycheck to pay check…

I not defending these folks decisions but if had a choice when I retire I`m going to be a drug dealer.

I believe to sell drugs you need to find yourself in a frame of mind of desperate for money or hungry for money, have no fear of the repercussions from the other people involved, whether they are buyers or the higher ups.Have no fear of the cops or possible jail time and you must have the right connections. So it is not as easy as most think it is,to just wake up one day and say I think I’ll get into the drug trade.I’ll just phone so and so,go out on the street and buy me some guns or steal them and set up shop. The people will be swarming my house and I’ll be rich and rule PG.

It is real easy to get into selling pot. My son did it after high school — mind you, he also had a real good job. He didn’t do it for a long time but he told me that he sure missed the extra 2500 tax free dollars every month — that was 20 years ago and I would think the profit margin is better today.

Traveller it was people like you my post was up their for.Twenty years ago I was 23 years old,of course it was easy to sell pot.It is a totally different animal today. My best friend died in 1999 down south of a heroin/hypothermia overdoes. He was a terrific guy,but the drugs changed him.I graduated with people that control the drug trade in this town now.Stay out of it or it will bite you in the ass.The cops haven’t really been able to shut the people down,as they know who most of the players are!
