Prince George, B.C.- The Ice Oval in Prince George will officially open for the season on Saturday.
Ice making has been on going since the 22nd of November, as 41 loads of 2,000 gallons of water were delivered to the surface.
That may sound like a lot, but this year there was less water used as a variation in the level of the ice was corrected after a 35cm variation was detected during an off season survey.
Lots of work grading and rolling have improved the surface.
This is the 14th season for the ice oval, and skating will be free to those who attend opening day.
Last year, the ice oval had 8290 visits.

New to Prince George. Where is this ice oval?

It is right behind the CN Centre. Plenty of parking there too

Attention all users, if you can afford it, put in a toonie of two to build up this kitty. It costs time and money to build this rink so if you like it, use it, support it!

The ice oval is one of the good things in PG,affordable and fun. Better close it and sell the land.
