Victoria, B.C. – Premier Christy Clark issued the following statement in celebration of the start of Chanukah (Hanukkah):
“I would like to extend my best wishes to British Columbia’s Jewish community for Chanukah. “Over the next 8 days, Jewish families throughout B.C. will gather to tell the story of the Maccabbees and the miracles of Chanukah.
“Chanukah’s traditions go back thousands of years, yet its customs live on in all corners of the world, including here in British Columbia.
“The celebration of Chanukah not only strengthens B.C.’s Jewish community, but the province’s diversity and cultural richness as a whole. “It’s holidays like Chanukah that serve as a reminder of the importance of family and spending time with loved ones.
“I wish British Columbia’s Jewish community a very Happy Chanukah. Chag sameach.”

First time I recall Christy doing that for this celebration, strange.
Crispy has figured out that the Jewish community gets to vote next spring along with the rest of us. She is a very astute lady. Imagine being able to read what her flack people and mouthpieces prepare for her.
