Mackenzie Stabbing Incident

Mackenzie, B.C.- A 22 year old woman is recovering from stab and slash wounds suffered in a Mackenzie bar on the weekend.
RCMP say they were called to the bar in the early hours of Sunday morning to a complaint of a man brandishing a knife.
A 32 year old male was arrested at the scene and a weapon was seized.
Police located the female victim as she was being driven to the Mackenzie Hospital for medical treatment. She had been stabbed in the lower abdomen and slashed on her upper thigh . She was sent to the University of Hospital of Northern B.C. in Prince George, where she underwent surgery.
Police say this was not a case of domestic violence.
The male remains in custody and is facing a number of charges including, Aggravated Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace. He will be appearing in court tomorrow in Prince George B.C.

Hopefully the victim has a full recovery and the knife operator gets what he really deserves.
