long gun = rifle
wild fire = forest fire
We don’t live in the USA, this is Canada. Let’s use the Queen’s own English. LOL.
Like the long gun registry?
I see no reference to wildfire in the article (just smoke) but a wildfire in British English is a fire in vegetation, grass or brush; a forest fire is a fire in a woodland; a crown fire is a fire in the branches of trees or treetop to treetop.
