Peden Hill Re-Opened

Thursday, December 20, 2012 @ 2:56 PM

Prince George, B.C.-  Highway 16 through Peden Hill has been re-opened,

The steep stretch was closed for a few hours today  as  semi trucks   jack knifed  when they hit  their brakes.

Some of the truckers   tried to put their chains on  at the  side of the road on Peden Hill, not a good idea.

Dragon: LOVE IT!
Yah, seems that there chain up area is not very well used…….

This is unbelievable, it snowed and Peden Hill is closed again. It seems pretty simple, I could keep this hill open with one plow truck with a sander. You plow up and sand, you plow down and sand a 15 minute round trip then repeat, repeat, repeat and repeat. It does not snow enough in 15 minutes to close the hill. YRB lets wake up.

Yep, YRB screwed up. AGAIN.

There is something wrong at YRB, our road has not been plowed for 11 days and when contacted the receptionist said she would pass it on, that was Monday. You have to put some of the blame on the government, when you pay a contractor a set amount and all he can save is his, well you can see how good that works. YRB is only keeping what we gave them.

Don’t call YRB if you have a complaint. Call these guy’s.

When the conditions are bad, why aren’t the truckers chaining up?

JohnnyBelt, when all those cars are going in the ditch, why arnt they chaining up?

Because the truckers do not know that the conditions are bad. They assume the rig in front of them will not jack-knife. However, when that happens, they discover to late that they were not prepared for that to happen.

They should learn to have a few passenger cars between the trucks to act as cushions …..
;-)

If you gave your neighbour a 10 year contract to plow your driveway and after every major snow fall you got stuck in your driveway——-WHATS YOUR NEXT MOVE?

Buy a snowmobile ….

I thought we were talking about Peden Hill? I have seen far more stalled and stuck semis than cars in the ditch on that hill over the years.
