Railway Museum Display Is A Treat

Prince George, B.C. – Are the kids getting antsy and excited in the run-up to Christmas Day?

Well, if so, here’s the perfect outing to distract them from the “big day” and to give them something fun and interesting to see. The Railway Museum is open, but only tonight and tomorrow night, from 4 to 8pm with several displays. Buildings and the grounds outside are decorated with 20-thousand lights in a dazzling display against the snowy, wintery background. It’s quite impressive.

Inside the main museum building are a number of displays, the best of which is upstairs. Lisa Smith has put together a great Christmas village layout which includes all sorts of houses, train tracks with running trains, a ski hill, Christmas tree and many people figures going about their business. And see if you can find Mr. PG in the display.

It looks really impressive. Lisa says it took her about three weeks to put it all together. She says what started out as a fund project a few years back has now turned into an obsession as she adds to the grand display each year.

And once the kids have done looking at that, they can go back downstairs and meet with none other than Santa and Mrs. Claus!!
