Prince George, B.C. – Vanderhoof RCMP and the North District Major Crime Unit continue their investigation of the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old Vanderhoof female last week.
Police have released little information about the shooting on Thursday, including whether it was accidental or the circumstances surrounding the case. Police in Vanderhoof were notified shortly after 4:30 Thursday afternoon that the female shooting victim was being driven to University Hospital of Northern B.C. in Prince George, suffering from a life threatening gunshot wound.
The teen underwent surgery but did not survive.
Regional Coroner Donita Kuzma says all inquiries about the case are being handled by the RCMP as it remains their investigation. In the meantime she says an autopsy on the victim will be performed in Kamloops toward the end of this week.
The name of the shooting victim has not been released.

Interesting why no information has been released over this time period. Wait and see I guess.
