Premier’s Christmas Message

Tuesday, December 25, 2012 @ 6:00 AM

Premier Christy Clark has issued the following holiday  greeting:

The holidays are a time for family. In B.C. families come in all shapes and sizes – like Hamish and me.

But it’s also a time for hope. And hope is one size fits all. This year communities like Prince George, Burns Lake and Johnsons Landing experienced unimaginable tragedies. Yet they always had hope. Hope to
rebuild. Hope to recover. Their hope to see past their challenges is  typical of the spirit of all British Columbians.

British Columbians like Christine Sinclair who displayed resilience to lead Canada to Olympic Bronze despite a heart-breaking loss.

British Columbians like our Grade 4 students, along with their parents and teachers, whose commitment has resulted in the best reading scores in Canada.

And British Columbians like our medical professionals. Because of their relentless dedication, B.C. leads the world in cancer outcomes.

This spirit is what built B.C. and will help us overcome our future challenges.

In my house we say Merry Christmas.

To all British Columbians, I extend my warmest wishes for the holiday season.

Christy Clark,

Premier of British Columbia

In my house we say is there anyway the provincial government can tax or fee us anymore.

We alo can’t wait for you to open the purse strings trying to buy votes, but we know you are spending our tax dollars lady. Can’t wait to see you go own in flames.

I see the Christmas spirit has bypassd your home, P Val.

To all others, I wish you the best of the season.

Not at all Gus..shouldn’t you be cutting and pasting someone else’s opinion…lol

Gus,

I agree with you. I find it quite tacky when people have to take a few shots at somebody sending out a christmas wish.

Axes to grind… all year ’round.

Ya, I`m going to go ahead and cut and paste gus.

I see the Christmas spirit has bypassd your home, P Val.

To all others, I wish you the best of the season.

This year has been a tad negative — good riddance to 2012. Maybe I’ll change my spots and see if I can be more positive this year. Is this a city election year??

Change is nice. For the better I hope.—Nothing bad said

I am on a opinion page and actually give a opinion How Dare I.. Lol

I agree, middle finger. It’s just as much a new low in ‘journalism’ as it is in ‘premierism’. There are enough other reasons to get rid of Ms. Clark and her gang come election time without resorting to that kind of stuff.

P Val ….. quoting from your intital post … “We alo can’t wait for you to …”

You want argue you have an pinon you wiosh to post here …. no problem with me …. but keep the “we” out of it and attribute it to yourself and let others to chose their opinions.

THAT is not an opinion of mine …. that is a strong suggestion to not bully others who may not share your opinion.

Learn some respect for othes around you!!!

Gus. Reread my post, I was talking about my family in my house. In MY house WE..

Respect is not just given its earned.

Don’t get all caught up in yourself because you can’t understand what I was writing, also a little selfish thinking I was speaking for you don’t you think :)

Thanks Christy Clark for the Christmas Greeting….Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours as well :)

Merry Christmas Crispy. May it be the last for you as premier the Liberals as Government.

Awww, I guess mattyc told on us and got some comments removed.

“…like Hamish and I”… (come to think of it).

“Respect is not just given its earned.”

I happen to think that people who think like you are the reason we have conflicts.

I believe respect ought to be given to everyone by default. After learning more about a person or group one may reach the conclusion that the other is not deserving of respect, typically because they do not return it.

Trust, on the other hand, many will agree needs to be earned.

However, in many cases we give trust before it is earned. Voting for representation in government is a good example of that. We typically will vote for an individual or a party who we trust will represent our views in relatively the same way we would do if we were in their place. Sometimes it works, other times it will not.

Typically the longer people are in power, the more the majority discover that they really should not have been entrusted with representing them. Thus the seesawing of governments.

I was looking for a christmas message from the Lieutenant Governor of BC on the Government House web page.

At least her message, had there been one, could not have been construed as being partisan to a particular party.

I wonder if there is some protocol around not givng one.

I may be wrong, but I believe the Christmas messages are from the Queen, Prime Minister and the Premiers. And we hear from the Governor-General and Lieutenant-Governors at New Years.

I had thought that as well … but checked it out and found that Alberta, Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia Lieutenant-Governors had Christmas messages linked to their Government House web pages.

After looking at the poor shape of some of those sites, I think it might be time to get rid of that vestige of our past or, conversely, give them a stronger purpose for existing.

how can you tell she is lying her lips are moving oh and no best wishes for daddy???

Very well put gus, and right on the money.
