$1.5 Million Bust In P.G.
Prince George, B.C. – Two Prince George men and one from Smithers are facing charges following a bust just before Christmas.
The North District Integrated Marijuana enforcement Task force ( NDIME) along with RCMP members from Prince George and the North District Drug Section, executed a search warrant on a Pilot Mountain Road home in Prince George.
Officers uncovered a grow op inside the residence and seized 1,569 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. Police also seized equipment used for growing marijuana and evidence in relation to the theft of electricity.
According to police, the plants have an extimated street value of $1.5 million dollars.
Police say a hydro bypass was being used to steal the electricity needed for this significant marijuana grow operation. "The bypass was extremely dangerous as live wires were seen protruding from the wall of the garage" says North District RCMP Media Liaison, Constable Lesley Smith.
Two Prince George males, ages 36 and 59 years old and a third male, 41 years of age from Smithers, were arrested and are facing charges for Theft of Telecommunications (Electricity) as well as charges of Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.
All three males arrested at the residence will be making their first court appearance in Prince George on April 3rd, 2013.

Well if the judge follows previous convictions for the same charges they will all get house arrest.. that will deter them.
Names please.
Hey Lesley Smith,sup??? Merry Christmas
Anyway, nice grow op, it`s too bad they had to steal the hydro to power it.
Wonder if the dope sniffin smart meter got them.
$1.5 million dollars? Crime doesn’t pay? Yeah, right. I will just have to get back up on that turnip truck I fell from. Duh!!
April 3??? They will probably be back in business by that time.
Seamutt, did you read the story? It stated that a hydro bypass was discovered. A smart meter can’t detect electricity that isn’t passing through it.
Ruez……you really must be the life of the party with that incredible sense of humuor you have.
Or humor,either way.
I wonder if it is the same house that was a grow op before. I am pretty sure I remember another bust on Pilot Mtn. Road.
who says the RCMP have nothing to do? I didn’t read anything about firearms so I suspect these people are not violent criminals – just simple gardeners.
People with guns are violent criminals?
Gardening trowels can gouge an eye out.
burn down the grow op with them in it end of story
Traveller…. yer funny.. just simple gardeners..
Isn’t it all farm land out that way??? Maybe this is their hobby for when they get snowed in out there..
nice ‘ice’ lets murder people becauce they grew some PLANTS sounds legit!!i wont judge you as it seems you are obviously stuck in the first stage of moral development.
Next time I see someone with a firearm do I call 911?
Seize the hosue and property under proceed of crime act.
Names will not be released until informations laid in court.
