Prince George, B.C. – Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following a crash at Boeing road and Highway 16 east this morning.
According to police, the driver of the pick u p truck failed to stop at a stop sign, and collided with an east bound tractor trailer unit.
Highway 16 east was closed for about an hour, but has since been re-opened to single lane traffic.

Just another one who thinks Traffic signs are not for him to obey .
so we have one idiot, one poor guy just trying to make a living now tied up for who knows long and how many other people affected depending on the freight… nice.
If my memory serves me correct, the tractor trailer unit is one use by a local driver training company. Me thinks a newbie got a rude awakening to how civilian people react around trucks.
Having said that, I would guess that section of road was pretty slippery, the pickup may have tried to stop and slid right out into traffic.
All speculation on my part.
When you feel hassled, the pressure is on, if you’re in a hurry, you’re impatient, you’ve got a deadline to meet and you’re behind, you’re excited…………. the best thing for you to do is SLOW DOWN!
The few seconds it will cost you is worth MORE than all the hours and money you may spend this way.
To the driver of a white Buick Rendezvous lic. 786 XCX going north on Queensway Saturday afternoon, I don’t know who you were trying to impress, but it sure didn’t impress me, except to get your license number at 5th Ave.
“To the driver of a white Buick etc….
Give me a break, the things people post on here.
How about you didn’t impress me because????
Anyway, when the Motor Vehicle Act states that in order for some one to get their “N”, they have to be trained by a certified trainer, and required to pass a defensive driver course, then maybe some of the Mom and Pop habits will be weeded out, and we’ll get some better drivers on the road.
And mounties, I know it’s not a sexy charge, but you could do a lot more if you started nailing some of the fools who think talking or texting while driving is okay…..
I slid on one of those side street today. 11th and Vancouver. If I had not steered toward a snowbank, I would have run over a pedestrian and then broadsided another vehicle. Was going slow but 11th Avenue was very slick and not sanded. Just missed the stop sign and wasn’t sure the snowbank was going to stop me. Crazy thing was that the pedestrian didn’t once look at me.
Lesson learned here: watch the side streets and pedestrians need to always be aware of traffic.
Just hours before our next snowstorm, rest assured those intersections will be sanded.
I remember when the Provincial Department of Highways looked after the roads. We knew we could go anywhere in the province and the roads were bare and wet.
Very few people died. How many have been killed in recent years between P.G. and Quesnel? How many between Kamloops and Banff? It’s an unnecessary slaughteration. The provincial government is saving money at the expense of the people we love. The roads up north are badly maintained. I went from P.G. to Grande Prairie one winter over the Pine Pass. I had no idea where the road was, it wasn’t plowed, and not one vehicle in front of me, I kept it in the middle and plowed 8 inches of snow in a Malibu.
There are too many deaths and accidents caused by a lack of road maintenance. Let’s invite Christie Clark up to P.G. or to Fort Nelson or Prince Rupert or Quesnel and get her to drive a Malibu (with winter tires; let’s give her a fighting chance}, and see how she likes it.
Also, remember we didn’t elect Christie Clark. She has not faced an election yet.
There’s one coming up. Let’s try to get the death toll down that is caused by the lack of road maintenance. Too many people have lost loved ones by poor road maintenance.

It’s the same with the mentally unstable walking our streets faithful. The govt used to lock them up keeping them from victimizing the stable ones over and over and over again. Now they close down all the institutions and let them do it to us again and again because it’s too expensive to lock them up. Besides that, the govt and their lawyer pals discovered a huge cash cow in defending these mental cases over and over and over again.

And that is the fine work of these Liberals and don’t forget that!
hammy,
Highways were privatized long before we had a real Liberal party. The Socreds did the privitization.
The NDP had their chances to correct this preceived wrong but they only renewed contracts when they were in power.
