Officers  uncovered a grow op  inside the residence and seized  1,569  marijuana plants in various stages of growth.  Police also seized   equipment  used for  growing marijuana  and evidence in  relation  to the  theft of electricity.

According to police, the plants have an extimated street value of  $1.5 million dollars.

Police  say a hydro bypass was being used to steal the electricity needed for this significant marijuana grow operation. "The bypass was extremely dangerous as live wires were seen protruding from the wall of the garage" says North District RCMP Media Liaison, Constable Lesley Smith.

Two Prince George males, ages 36 and 59 years old and a third male, 41 years of age from Smithers, were arrested and are facing charges for Theft of Telecommunications (Electricity) as well as charges of Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

All three males arrested at the residence will be making their first court appearance in Prince George on April 3rd, 2013.
