Prince George, BC – A brilliant end to a glorious winter day, as the sun fell behind Cranbrook Hill just before 4pm this afternoon…

The mist rising from the treetops shows mother nature responding to evening’s drop in temperature and more fog is set to move in overnight.  Environment Canada is calling for the fog to dissipate tomorrow morning, but it will be a colder day with the high to reach -8 and a mix of sun and cloud.

2012 appears set to close out with sunshine on Monday and welcome in the new year on Tuesday – daytime highs will be -8 and -10, respectively.

Yesterday’s high was -2.  Record values for December 29th include a high of 7.5 degrees in 1980 and a bone-chilling low of -41.3 in 1984.  As for snowfall, city residents were digging out from 22.4cm in 1964.
