Air Advisory Ends For Vanderhoof

Saturday, January 5, 2013 @ 1:10 PM

Vanderhoof, BC –  The Ministry of Environment, in collaboration with Northern Health, has ended an air quality advisory issued yesterday afternoon for Vanderhoof.

Air Quality Meteorologist, Dennis Fudge, says while the 24-hour rolling average for fine particulates, PM2.5, is still above the recommended provincial objective of 25 micrograms per cubic metre, the hourly values are now in the single digits and Fudge expects the levels to remain low this afternoon.

As of 11am this morning, the 24-hour average was 31 micrograms/m3, but it is expected to drop below 25 by this afternoon.

More information on particulate matter levels is available at www.bcairquality.ca

Northern Health is advising anyone experiencing difficulty in breathing, chest pain or discomfort, or the sudden onset of cough or irritation of airways to contact their health care provider.
