Cold Spell To Ease a Little Today

Sunday, January 13, 2013 @ 5:12 AM
Prince George, B.C. – The cold snap of recent days is expected to ease a little today, but residents are still reminded to take cold weather precautions.

Northern Health says the extreme cold can be a serious risk, particularly for those who are vulnerable. It asks that if you have neighbours who are elderly, you check in on them periodically just to make sure all is well and lend any assistance that might be needed.

If you’re heading outdoors, common sense is the byword: wear warm, layered  clothing including a properly insulated hat, avoid prolonged exposure outside, keep yourself hydrated and don’t overdo it when performing outdoor activities in the cold.

Today’s high is expected to reach minus 11.

Still waiting for it…………
Seriously? This is COLD????

Maybe it was actually Southern Health.

It seems to me it has been relatively warm, on average.

It has not got close to -40 in many, many years.

I agree. This is NOT cold. The Northern Health employee who made that statement must be from Vancouver or farther south. We seldom get the cold weather we experienced regularly, many years ago.

It cant be that cold, Ive still seen joggers on the road ;)

I work outside and have been a resident of this god for saking hell hole for almost half a century. – 10 is perfect weather as long as there is no wind,,, I only welcome the warm weather in winter as long as it does not get above zero,,,but I see that will happen this week,,,more wardrobe change,,,,lol

Back in the old days… when it was cold and we walked to school uphill both ways!

:)
