Prince George, B.C. – Families, singles, oldsters and young pups took full advantage of a pleasant winter day and headed to the Outdoor Ice Oval behind CN Centre Sunday afternoon.

They were there for the 3rd Annual PG Skates, put on by Enhance PG. It’s a free skate with plenty of fun, including clowns, hot chocolate which the kids were lined up for, face painting and music to skate by playing in the background. And it couldn’t have come on a better day, with some clouds, some sunny breaks and a temperature hovering at a very bearable minus 5.

Judging by the turnout of quite literally hundreds of Prince George residents, this is the type of event which you can expect to continue, especially in the lead-up to the 2015 Canada Winter Games in our city.

Yup, nothing motivates Prince George people more than free stuff!

Great way to expose a wonderful facility to people who may not have seen it before. Thank you to the people who got this up and running and continue to keep it running.

Please do not take this as a criticism, O-250, but when you cover great community events such as these, please add more photos.

Looks like everyone had fun and good turn out, nice to see kids stretching their legs and spending time with their families and friends. Good job and thanks to organizers.

Ya cannot beat winter so get out and join it!

Hey HabsFabs… I AGREE WITH YOU… and no offence to O-250 but I was a resident of PG for 50 years before relocating to the Okanagan and I would love to see more pics of PG on here.

Have a great day!
