Prince George, B.C.- It has been just over 13 years since 13 year old Adam Williams-Dudoward died in his mother’s Glenview Drive home in Prince George. His death was reported to police 4 years later, and while some of his remains were recovered in 2004, the balance of his remains were not recovered until 2007. He had been buried in a remote spot off North Nechako road.
Today, the man accused of manslaughter in Adam’s death, Lloyd Cook, was to hear the judge’s detemination in the case as well as possible sentencing but Cook was a no show.
Cook’s lawyer says he received a text message from his staff just 40 minutes before Cook was to be in Prince George, saying Cook had advised them he was at the side of the road in Williams Lake, waiting for someone to wire him money to have the fuel pump in his vehicle repaired.
Crown requested that a warrant be issued for Cook’s arrest and that he be delivered to the Prince George Courthouse. With current road conditions, and if Police are able to find him , it is possible that Cook could be delivered to P.G as early as this afternoon but more likely he would arrive some time tomorrow.
Cook has been on trial on four counts:
Manslaughter, Criminal negligence causing death,Unlawful confinement and Interference with a dead body.
Cook’s lawyer says he expects his client will be found guilty on at least one if not more of the four counts, and that he expects Mr. Cook will be sentenced to jail time.
Lloyd Cook was living with Adam’s mother, Judy Elaina Williams and Adam’s younger brother when Adam died. Adam’s mother pleaded guilty to interference with a dead body and is serving two years house arrest.
