Name of Semi Crash Victim Released

Prince George, B.C. – The driver of a semi who died in a crash north of Hixon Monday afternoon has been identified as 53 year old Balwinder Singh Gill, of Surrey.
The Coroners Service says Mr. Gill was the driver and sole occupant of an empty tractor-trailer unit, that was travelling southbound on Highway 97 near "Microwave Hill" about 10 kilometres north of Hixon.
His semi was in collision with a northbound Semi B-train that was fully loaded with lumber.
Road conditions at the time were described as slippery, and it was snowing lightly.
The BC Coroners Service, WorkSafe BC and the RCMP continue to investigate this death. There has been no word yet on possible charges against the driver of the loaded B-Train.
