I’m pro pipeline for the Canadian economy. The time to be ‘green’ for bc has not yet reached our province. We sit on the the very shoreline that explorers set out to find way back when. The begining stages of that trade is the government selling resources. I would just like to see Enbridge sink so $’s into our province for jobs in bc as a cost of running a pipeline through our province, a win for Canada as well as for BC. go ahead naysayer of our precious land, but the reality of it is we are a resource driven country. (at this stage) PERIOD.

*some $*

Gotta love the Indians and all their flag waving and all the people jumping on the Indian bandwagon I do however have several questions….

1) Why is it the chiefs and band council all drive new(er) vehicles get to go on trips and live relatively good while the average Indian lives at poverty levels?

2) Out of the millions the Indian bands get every year why do the band council and chief seem to be loaded in it while the band members have next to nothing?

3) If the Indians want the right to self government we should have the right to tell them they need to get yearly audits as we whites are required to do so why are the Indian bands not being audited?

4) There are 627 recognized Indian bands in Canada and the chief of every one of those bands are millionaires why is that so when the average band member makes around the poverty line?

5) The Indians that have settled their treaties all got xx amount of land set aside for traditional hunting and gathering use for future generations I can guarantee you almost none of the 20some generation has never visited their traditional grounds so why do they have them?

I grew up beside a reserve I know what they are like and I know what the Indians living on the reserve are like some are good decent people most are not. Few are willing to work and those that live off the reservation generally don’t hold jobs and live off of our hard earned money.

This is the 21st century it’s about time the Indians joined it as well instead of using the pretext of the white man screwed them we did but that was 150 years ago its time for the Indians to own up.

“Why is it the chiefs and band council all drive new(er) vehicles get to go on trips and live relatively good while the average Indian lives at poverty levels”

I suppose for the same reason that senior managers and government representatives do the the same. They both can … so they do.

I think question 2 is the same as question 1. :-)

“If the Indians want the right to self government we should have the right to tell them they need to get yearly audits as we whites are required to do so why are the Indian bands not being audited?”

let me see … do you udertand what self government means? It means you govern yourself … so you decide whether you want to audit yourself or not. And it would be exactly that. They would audit themselves just as we audit ourselves. :-)

Question 3 is the same as 1 and 2….

“The Indians that have settled their treaties all got xx amount of land set aside for traditional hunting and gathering use for future generations I can guarantee you almost none of the 20some generation has never visited their traditional grounds so why do they have them”

I have access to hunting grounds as well … but I do no hunt eiher.

“the pretext of the white man screwed them”

I am not quite sure how you can say it is a pretext. It did happen. The same as the holocaust happened. Or are you a holocaust denier as well?

And Iraq did have weaopns of mass destruction. Just because they have not found them yet really is unimportant. ;-)

Gotta love the White Man and all their flag waving and all the people jumping on the covered wagon I do however have several questions….

1) Why is it the Mayors and council all drive new(er) vehicles get to go on trips and live relatively good while the average White Man lives at poverty levels?

2) Out of the millions the Municipal governments get every year why do the council and mayor seem to be loaded in it while the citizens have next to nothing?

3) If the White Man want the right to self government we should have the right to tell them they need to get yearly audits as we Natives are required to do so why are the Municipalities not being audited?

4) There are 62,700 recognized municipalities in Canada and the mayor of every one of those municipalities are millionaires why is that so when the average White Man makes around the poverty line?

5) The Provinces that have settled their treaties all got 99% amount of land set aside for forestry and mining for future generations I can guarantee you almost none of the 20some generation has never visited their grounds so why do they have them?

I grew up beside a municipality I know what they are like and I know what the White Men living on the municipality are like some are good decent people most are not. Few are willing to work and those that live off the municipality generally don’t hold jobs and live off of our hard earned money.

This is the 21st century it’s about time the White Men joined it as well instead of using the pretext of the natives screwed them we did but that was 150 years ago its time for the White Men to own up.

herbster……. good one… Thanks for taking the time to write it.

Using our tax money the Liberals are bragging about job creation over the next 8 years, saying that by 2020 a million new jobs will be available. In the lead up to an election, the motivation for this is, of course, very plain. It is good, old fashioned electioneering, just at taxpayers’ expense.

One million jobs over eight year is 125,000 jobs a year. That’s a significant number. Unfortunately it appears to be another Liberal lie to suck in voters during an election.

How can I say an estimate for the future can be a lie, you ask? Based on the record of job creation in the past, I answer. This one million is totally and completely out of whack compared to the record of the last 20 years and two governments.

Under the NDP, and I used the period from May 1991 to May 2001, there were about 850,000 jobs created in BC, that’s about 85,000 each year.

Under the Liberals, from June 2001 to December 2012 there were 380,000 jobs created. That’s about 34,500 each year.

Both sets of figures are extracted from the employment data tables of StatCan for BC. Check the figures for yourself. Select the information you want and compare. The url is:
[utl]http://www5.statcan.gc.ca/cansim/a26;jsessionid=2FFB45F848D9989EA8CCF9F2DA5CEC8E?lang=eng&retrLang=eng&id=2820087&pattern=282-0069..282-0089&tabMode=dataTable&srchLan=-1&p1=-1&p2=31#customizeTab[/url]

My point is that the Liberal/government ads are incredibly misleading from gross overoptimism just at the time when the Liberals so desperately need a boost in the polls. Not only are they spending $15 million of our tax dollars for these ads, the ads themselves are grossly misleading!

I also noted that the NDP created more jobs in their decade than the Liberals created in theirs. Coupled with the greater economic performance under the NDP (3% growth compared to 2% growth) it makes you wonder why the Liberals tout themselves as economic wonder workers, when the NDP did so much better.

Perhaps soon we can get back to improving this province once agin after the Liberal decade of mismanagement. Roll on next May!

Nice to see Stephen Harper putting the “Idle no-more ” fiasco on ignore. Next.

But all comes down to is at least the white man and people in government are paying taxes and don’t get any help for schooling we can all agree on that. I come from a German back ground so do you think I am going to pay for what my ancestors did back in the hitler days I don’t think so it is done with just like all of this other Mumbo jumbo of why the natives get everything handed to then. Everyone one this country should be the exact same doesn’t matter of what background you came from. Right now I am blaming the government that is still letting all of this happen let’s get this done with.

Pothead posted: “I can guarantee you almost none of the 20some generation has never visited their grounds so why do they have them?”

Hilarious! um…So by your grade three grammar they HAVE visited “their grounds”, whatever that means.

Nice try at a bong-addled post of wit, but I think you just wound-up confusing yourself.

C’mon now, don’t go blaming all pot-heads because of one bad apple.

buzzinga said: “But all comes down to is at least the white man and people in government are paying taxes and don’t get any help for schooling we can all agree on that.””

There are a lot of races paying taxes besides the “white man” and some of those taxes go towards subsidizing education in our country. So no I don’t agree about not getting “help for schooling”.

What great weather we have been having.. Almost time to buy some pineapple seeds :)

The fact is Buzzinga that Germany does pay Israel for what was done in the Hitler days. There was a reparations agreement between West Germany and Israel signed in the 1950`s.

see:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reparations_Agreement_between_Israel_and_West_Germany¸

I dropped out of school and logged for nearly 20 years, but when I went back to school, the EI system paid for my adult basic education. I picked up the dime on the rest of my education but keep in mind that a post-secondary student pays roughky 1/3 the real cost of their tuition.

So I don’t agree about not getting help for schooling either.

Also, add my name in appreciation for Herbster’s retort – excellent!

One Country, One People, One Law

Good one Herbster! It should not matter what colour your skin is! We should all be playing by the same rules! I am really tired of all races playing the ‘Have pity on me cause my ancestors had a hard time!’ Get over it and let’s get on with the times at hand! The politicians like to have us all fighting amongst ourselves so they can pull the wool over our eyes! If we pull together we would be more productive!

BCRacer – only when paying with cash will the amount be rounded up or down.
1.01 or 1.02 will be 1.00
1.03 or 1.04 will be 1.05

Guess I’ll be using debit a lot more.

Sorry, should have added:
1.06 or 1.07 will be 1.05
1.08 or 1.09 will be 1.10

There should be complete transparency with what Canada pays native bands, leaders, and subsidies for the native people. Then perhaps these native activists will be protesting on the native chiefs and native MP’s front yards.

The penny lost it’s ability to sustain itself back in the mid-80s. The Canadian Mint has been producing them at a loss for the past 30 years or so. I don’t think this minuscule rounding up will ever recover those losses.

Right now, the value of the nickel is just barely paying for it’s production, so don’t be surprised to see it go by the way of the penny in the future.

Want to keep the cost of coin production down? Stop hoarding the coins. Because we use Debit Cards and Credit Cards so much, we tend to keep the coins in change jars when we do use hard currency. This diminishes the number in circulation and the Mint has to make more.

I pay by CC on every transaction over $5, so a penny is still a penny to me. Yes, I’m just as guilty of coin hoarding. ;-)

If you have self government, doesn’t that mean that you raise your own taxes?

Both the NDP and the Liberals are on a one way street to nowhere when they base their records on ‘job’ creation in priority to everything else.

The ‘job’, like the ‘profit’, are both SECONDARY to the primary purpose of any economy, which is to FIRST produce and deliver needed, and then desired,
goods and services to ALL who are associating in that economy.

And always do so as, when, and where required in the most EFFICIENT manner possible.

This latter means, as it only CAN mean, with LESS human labor input per unit of anything needed or desired that’s produced and delivered. Not MORE. Like it or not, the world is working at putting itself out of work. And has been since the advent of the Industrial Revolution. Why fight it? It’s a blessing, not a curse.

‘Jobs’ that are in anyways useful towards adding to the wealth, i.e., the genuine ‘well being’, of the people of any country can only come if there is a actual Consumer demand for the product of those jobs.

And IF there is, where Consumers always have a means of making their demands fully EFFECTIVE, right up to the capacity of the economy to actually produce and deliver, or to the point of satiation of consumer demand, whichever comes first.

For anyone to believe that we are going to be able to create enough Effective Demand to fully draw on the capacity to produce that ALREADY exists, solely through Incomes gained from ‘jobs’, no matter how many of them are created, SO LONG AS THE INCOMES PAID ALL THOSE WHO HOLD THESE JOBS ARE ONLY A ‘PART’, AND A DIMINISHING PART AT THAT, OF ALL THE ‘COSTS’ THAT GO INTO ‘PRICES’ (of every good and service we need or want, is simply an exercise in mass delusion.

Surely the good people, and I believe there are some, most in fact, who comprise the supporters of both the Liberal and the New Democratic Parties, deserve better than to be continually led down the garden path with this endless inanity over who’s going to create the most ‘jobs’?

ANYONE can ‘create jobs’, for everyone, simply by having them dig a hole and fill it in again. Over and over. Doing so makes endless ‘work’, and we can have ‘jobs’ for all. But is THAT what we REALLY want? Just an ‘excuse’ to pay someone an Income for doing something that’s functionally useless?

Change the bloody “accounting” ~ that’s all ANY money system really is ~ and allow actual Consumer demand, where and for whatever it exists, to be fully EFFECTIVE DEMAND ‘financially’ ~ and your ‘jobs’, meaningful ‘jobs’,too, will flow from that.

Wow. Where did the mouth of January go???? Bring on spring Mr Groundhog. Golf season just around the corner. Happy Friday everyone.

The businesses will have to report the rounding of the pennies up or down as revenue. The govenment does not get it. At least not right away (income tax).

“Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer”

You are 70 years too late. But maybe its fun to recall the good old days?

Soon the HST will be EXTINGUISHED. We only have to wait now another 59 days until April first finally gets here. Then just after that we the people get our PST system back (which BTW we the people voted for) just 6 weeks later May 14. Then it’s bye bye LIE-berals. I bet that the LIE-berals loose every single seat. The last 11 years of the arrogance and the lies and lies and selling our railway and the list is just endless for the things they did to the people of this province. Yes indeed the NDP do have a much better economic record and after the HST is EXTINGUISHED I would bet that this province will do well again. The NDP left a modest surplus last time they were running the show. I hope NDP win every single seat in May. Just like we won the referendum in EVERY SINGLE RIDING. 85 ridings in fact. And we the people won that vote fair and square. And now we want the HST EXTINGUISHED. And our exemptions back. And the LIE-berals removed from office. Soon that is going to happen. Unfortunately we have to wait another 2 months. The clock is ticking snooki. Soon we the people will not have to hear your lies at our expense any longer. The Only jobs your type want is slaves imported from china. Well snooki your time is almost over. Enjoy your last few weeks screwing us. It is soon over for you and your lackies.

– Yawn –

I hate loose seats ;)
Happy friday, have a great weekend everyone

No, BCRacer, the “storekeeper” will not have to bear the increased costs of debit and credit card sales vs. cash. He’ll pass them on, to ALL his customers, no matter how they pay. Same as is done now, with the fee charged for accepting Interac (debit cards) and the grossly larger ones for accepting Visa and Mastercard.

Those fees are worked into the price of everything you buy. When a merchant signs up to accept debit and credit cards, part of the Merchant Agreement involves his legally contracting NOT to offer a discount to anyone paying cash. If he does, Visa and Mastercard and Interac can terminate his agreement.

And in our increasingly cash strapped, overly indebted society, that would likely put the merchant out of business.

BTW, the annualised interest rate charged the MERCHANT as a ‘discount fee’ when someone pays by Visa or Mastercard ~ this is for the money credited to the merchant’s account for something like an average of 26 days, before the customer makes any payment to Visa or Mastercard~ works out to around 42% per annum!

And to think, at one time in this fair country, the interest rates on bank loans was limited to a maximum of 6%, and anything over 12% charged on any other loans, was considered usury, and a prosecutable crime. We’ve sure ‘advanced’ since then.

Liberals lie and bend the truth. Who would ever believe it? Just remember how open and honest they were about the HST, and the BC rail sale.

Herbster,

Love your response.

Dearth, you are an ignoramus to the highest degree. Just because you grew up beside a reserve doesn’t mean all of them are the same, nor does that make you any kind of authority to judge others.

Until ignorant people quit generalizing about First Nations people in this country, then Canada can never say it treats all of its citizens equal, nor should it expect all people to act like they are treated equal. What a farce!

You want me to act like your equal? Try treating me like your equal, and don’t assume that because I have a university education that you paid for it. Don’t assume that because I own and pay taxes on two houses in this city, that I got it because of some sort of grant or subsidy. When I go into a store, don’t assume that I’m going to steal something, or treat me like I’m invisible (coloured skin yet transparent).

Socredible, that is insane about the interest charges and contracts credit cards make you sign.

I’ve learned one thing in the past while and that is to try and pay cash for everything. It sure stops the impulse buys and makes you realize how much you are spending.

Funny how sensitive they get when they are incorrectly lumped-in with the Chief Spence type.

Lay with dogs…

mattyc is having his weekly rage at the HST.

Let’s all try to look at the bigger picture when commenting.

I agree that the Liberals have done poor job of governing but that doesn’t mean the NDP were any better. Let’s not forget the recent past. The NDP were so hated that they only won 2 seats in the entire 2001 election. There must have been a reason for that.

Perhaps we should be voting for the marijuana party as legalization would bring prosperity to the province. Tax on the multi-billion dollar industry. No more jail time for a harmless habit. The most enjoyable people I know smoke the stuff. They’re enjoyable because they’re mellow.

And no, I have never partaken.

Yes their are lots of things wrong with both the Natives and the White Mans world. You can change the world, so don’t complain about it, do it!

Get yourself into politics and start making the world a better place…

Be a leader!

Dearth. Subsitute CEO and Corporation for Indians, and you have it exactly right.

I thought a little bit of sunshine and warmer temperatures would make people feel happy and calm but instead there seems to be so much anger, maybe when spring does get here this will change.

Documentary on CBC last night.

Seems Canada is graduating thousands and thousands of students from our Universitys even though there are no jobs available for them. Those jobs that are available are Doctors, Lawyers, Dentists,Engineers Accountants, etc; other than that next to nothing.

Ontario seems to have 10,000 more or less teachers than they need.

Part of the study indicates that Canadian Universities are more interested in getting **bums in chairs** for the funding it provides, rather than concentrating on the best interests of the students.

The exception to this trend is Saskatchwan where students are gauranteed a job after graduation, or the University will take them back for a year of upgrading for no cost.

European Countries dont seem to have this problem and Switzerland as an example will only allow 20% of high school graduate’s to go on to University (Those with the highest marks and other attributes) the balance of students go into trades of their choice and actually work in their trade prior to graduation. So very little unemployment.

Canada’s system is royally screwed, and even if we wanted to fix it, it would take a couple of decades, and there is no political will to do so.

So we will continue to have students go into dept for as much as $25000.00 after graduation, with very little or no opportunity to get a job.

The old adage that a University education will gaurantee you a job, is no longer applicable in Canada.

Whoda thunk it?

How long will it be after the NDP gets in that they make the announcement that ‘things were worse than they thought’ and they will have to raise taxes to compensate?

Careful what you wish for…

JB. They could make that statement right now. They dont have to wait until after the election.

Things WILL be a helluva lot worse than the NDP or anyone else thinks, however raising taxes might not be an option. Government downsizing, and a huge reduction in all budgets is a better way to go.

“The old adage that a University education will gaurantee you a job, is no longer applicable in Canada.”

A university education has never guaranteed anything. That is a fallacy.

If someone wants to go to university and study history and philosophy, whose fault is it that they emerge with a degree that doesn’t help them in the job market? Not the university’s.

Students going into post secondary education need to take ownership and study things that are going to help them when find a job they get out.

Palopu: “Government downsizing, and a huge reduction in all budgets is a better way to go.”

The NDP has never been about small government. It’s always been tax and spend…

Hummerm I guess you didnt read ammonra post to see whos done better.

Good post ammonra.
Cheers

“Palopu: “Government downsizing, and a huge reduction in all budgets is a better way to go.”

JB:”The NDP has never been about small government. It’s always been tax and spend…”

What exactly have the current gang been doing that is any different?

Herbster….while quite clever….it seems to be lacking in some critical areas…

You asked…
1) Why is it the Mayors and council all drive new(er) vehicles get to go on trips and live relatively good while the average White Man lives at poverty levels?

I would consider myself to be quite average. I live quite a ways above the poverty line. Yes. I own a new truck…bought and paid for by going to work daily.

You asked again…
2) Out of the millions the Municipal governments get every year why do the council and mayor seem to be loaded in it while the citizens have next to nothing?

I live between 3 towns and commute extensively. Of the 3 towns I know for a fact that I make more money than at least one of those mayors. I also know that for more than a few council members…municipal council member is not their only job….they have day jobs.

You stated…
3) If the White Man want the right to self government we should have the right to tell them they need to get yearly audits as we Natives are required to do so why are the Municipalities not being audited?

Now this is outright sarcasm….or an attempt at humour. Does the average Canadian taxpayer HEAVILY subsidize native reserves and infrastructure? What we see is no accountability at ANY level of Government…native or otherwise.

Again….you…
4) There are 62,700 recognized municipalities in Canada and the mayor of every one of those municipalities are millionaires why is that so when the average White Man makes around the poverty line?

I’m fairly confident that the AVERAGE Canadian is above the poverty line. I don’t have the stats right in front of me. However…it SEEMS like native leaders ARE living quite well when DIRECTLY compared to the AVERAGE native person.

You again…
5) The Provinces that have settled their treaties all got 99% amount of land set aside for forestry and mining for future generations I can guarantee you almost none of the 20some generation has never visited their grounds so why do they have them?

Tongue in cheek…me thinks?

Once again….yourself…
I grew up beside a municipality I know what they are like and I know what the White Men living on the municipality are like some are good decent people most are not. Few are willing to work and those that live off the municipality generally don’t hold jobs and live off of our hard earned money.

I would swap the two words ‘Some’ and ‘Most’ in the above paragraph. I know plenty of native folks who are hard working and decent people. I know plenty of white folks who are hard working and decent. I know SOME native folks who aren’t and I know SOME white folks who aren’t hard working and decent at all. No matter what race people claim to be…there is ALWAYS going to be bad apples. It seems to be constant though…people remember the BAD before they remember the GOOD….and some can’t see the good at all.

You….
This is the 21st century it’s about time the White Men joined it as well instead of using the pretext of the natives screwed them we did but that was 150 years ago its time for the White Men to own up.

I know your entire post was set up as tongue in cheek humour. However it is time for all of us to stop living in the past and move forward. I don’t owe you anything. The native people don’t owe me anything. I just want us all to come together as Canadians and stand up for injustice for everyone…no matter what colour your skin happens to be. We’ve all got to fight for Canada together before it gets carved up into something we cannot recognize.

So Spense, just where did that almost 1/2 billion go dumped into your reserve since 06 go? Oh right you are a poor downtrodden native and do not have to report, just send more.

How come native leaders are freaked out about democracy being introduced on the reserves?

Interesting expos’e about Suzuki on sun news.

Mercenary…from your post i am assuming you have a good trade that takes you on the road. first off you probly make a really good wage hourly you get overtime and double time, and travel expences, and accomodations paid for, medical and dental coverage. which is not average just so you know! i could be completly wrong!!
i mean it would be nice if that was average and the majority of peopple had these things!

JB:”The NDP has never been about small government. It’s always been tax and spend…”

Dragon: “What exactly have the current gang been doing that is any different?”

Truthfully, not much. But I wouldn’t expect government to get smaller, taxes decreasing, or life getting any cheaper under an NDP regime.

Boudicca, that is average for those willing to get out and work for it.

I am appalled at the language used on this post. Please use the __politically__ correct term for Indian,,,it is First Nations now,as they hatched this one with the government a few years back…If I used the “N”word in public, my post would be cut.

Okay, just got home from some running around. What’s with the elope driving the huge trucks always parking on a angle and taking up 2 spots ? Or parking so close to fit into a space you can’t get into your car.
If you are going to drive these beasts realize you have to park where it will fit appropriately, not wedged in between two vehicles with the back end hanging out into the roadway.

The problem folks have with politically correct terms is no one knows what the current acceptable term is.
One talks to a person on the street, and they self identify as “Indian”.
One listens to the news and it is aboriginal as in “Aboriginal Issues”.
One listens to a politico and it is “First Nations”.

Add in the fact that many have troubles constructing a grammatically correct statement, and we have a situation where no one knows what to say. Of course, very few have a dictionary beside them as they vent on a web site, and it seems fewer yet understand that red squiggly line means incorrectly spelled (spelt).

I am far from good at it, But at least I try. Many do not even try to improve their communications skills.

There, their, they’re

do you really think there is equality of oppertunity for all people that are willing to work hard?!

Loki has a relevant post worth reading. Not many of these other posts are.

Boudicca. Yes I am a tradesman. I worked quite hard to get where I’m at. When the mills shut down in Mackenzie I didn’t stick around and live off of EI or welfare. I had to move because I think every able bodied individual in this country should earn a living.

I make good money but I don’t get paid travel, living out, or any other subsidies. I pay for an apartment in FSJ…a house in Mackenzie, and my wife has an apartment in PG. We work. We pay through the nose for everything. Its a crap situation…but we manage.

If it all came crashing down tomorrow…I’d look for work elsewhere. Its the way that I think.

Palupo

They compared our system to the Swiss. They only allow the top 20% into university. Unfortunately we have made Universities into mini economies of their own and have seats half filled with mediocre students that make it a short term life style as opposed to an education!
I did not like the use of interns by corporations though. It appears that the vast majority are breaking the law.

Heyyy mercenary… It’s the thought behind it, how that article was written.. Guess getting a trade education didn’t help much upstairs if this is the narrow minded thoughts you have.. ohhh you are up in Mc and yer wife is in PG ??? hmmm Can anyone put one and one together??

Great day uh… really warmed up.. Yess gas has gone up, yess everything has followed suit.

Mercenary

The entitled ones would call you nuts for your approach to life, but gladly accept their cheque every 2 weeks without even thanking you. Good on you for not living off the government teet like so many did.

Good stuff,Mercenary. Althoug we never owned more then one home my family and I lived in a number of areas in the province so that I could continue to be employed. UI was a six week wate for benifts that I never used during the nany years I work as a tradesman.

Some of the work was tough. We worked up on the Stewert area, three weeks in and one week out. I loved my job and would not hesitate to do it all over. But I no longer have to work.
Cheers

Please don’t park on the sidewalks.

Business vehicles are particularly bad for this; this week I have seen a Purolater truck and WSI BC truck parked on separate sidewalks. This forces pedestrians onto the streets…not a good situation for anyone.

How about people who park in the Firelanes (I’m thinking of Superstore and the mall.)

Talk about an easy ticket. Could be a revenue generator. :)

Speaking of parking, my heart weeps for the guy who can no longer illegally park his logging truck on O’Grady road just past Home Depot, because the snowbanks are too high. I’m sure he’ll be back in the spring.

PVal writes….

Most if not all parking lots are designed for small cars. Taking up two spots makes it easier to get into and out of a parking spot.
Many times I have parked my rig all by itself out in the middle of the lot only to return to it to find I can barely open either door to get in because the dolt’s that get to walk among us parked too close.

Therefore we will park like we wish.

ahhhh…..free for all Fridays…..anyone ever wondered about the top heavy administration at Hospice? Hospice is a good cause but a terrible place to work. The staff is well known for eating their own….terrible moral

Dragonmaster..typical response I would have expected.. As my girl friend says…big truck = small ____ making up for something ;)

Wow! Really?

Yes P Val – I dont haul a camper or sleds or anything, I got out of bed one day and looked down and thought “holy crap I need a bigger truck!”

Nice scam insurance companies are running. Got a notice to renew my house insurance and it seems I now have to pay extra to cover water damage from outside the home

. The two excuses are aging infrastructure and more extreme weather in BC. Told them I live in a new area so no aging infrastructure. That does not matter to them its the whole town they look at. More extreme weather, I asked for proof, all I got is silence. I am now shopping around but it seems they are all running the same scam.

Ahhh, the lower mainland is a great place,
to be from!

Loki. Is it safe to say, I just got panhandled by a warrior?” Just askin’.

Lol interceptor :). Guessing dragon thinks the same thing every morning :-)

The straight answer is, “I don’t know”.

Following that question in the spirit in which it was received, a true warrior would never panhandle.
A true warrior would instead hunt or scrounge or even take by force what they needed, but never beg, not even for mercy.

Have a nice day.

Loki you forgot the sarc tag

I suppose we could agree that the correct name is First Nations, if that is what they want, however there are some problems with being political correct.

As an example all the rules, regulations, and agreements, and treaties in dealing with First Nations by the Federal Government (ie; Indian Act) Refer to First Nations, Natives, etc; as Indians.

The Government has stated that it would be impossible to change this, and therefore in all official documents First Nations, Natives,, etc; will continue to be referred to as Indians.

So, thats that.

If you look in the fishing regulations for Squaw Lake, once you find it, it says **refer to Square Lake**

So you need to know the inappropriate name in order to be referred to the politically correct name. Such is the way of Canada.

My dictionary defines me as a native. The Canadian Oxford. I was born here. Dictionaries don’t lie. Or do they?

Political correctness is for dummies!

Harbinger is a wannabee!! LOL.

I wonder if these new gas prices are how the Liberals plan on paying for all those million dollar expenditures?? Higher carbon tax, higher BC fuel surcharges…and not one Liberal MLA saying a thing about it.
