Cook Arrested In Osoyoos

Monday, February 11, 2013 @ 1:34 PM

Prince George, BC – Prince George RCMP says Lloyd William Cook is in custody, after being arrested on an outstanding warrant in Osoyoos earlier today.

Prince George RCMP Media Liaison Officer, Corporal Craig Douglass, says, as a result of information provided to police, Cook was arrested at a residence in the south Okanagan community this morning.

Douglass says Cook is being transported back to Prince George to appear in court in the near future.  A warrant was issued for Cook’s arrest at the end of last month when he failed to appear in court to face four charges in connection with the death of 13-year-old Adam Scott Williams-Dudoward.

After ruling Cook was an ‘absconder’ earlier in the week, BC Supreme Court Justice Glen Parrett delivered his verdict in the trial on Friday, finding Cook not guilty of manslaughter and criminal negiligence causing death, but finding Cook guilty of unlawful confinement and interference with a dead body. Corporal Douglass says, "Prince George RCMP would like to thank the public and the media for assisting in the apprehension of a wanted man."

Crown Counsel is seeking consecutive sentences of two- to three-years for Cook.  Mr. Justice Parrett had deferred handing down his sentence until Cook could be located.

Arrested at the border most likely.

Beat me to it winterfell…

As bad as he is I find the mother worse for allowing this man into her son’s life, terrible

So here we have a fella that was checked in Williams Lake where his vehicle broke down in a 24 hour period prior to the issuance of the warrant, then decides the heck with a Supreme Court verdict, I’ve got higher priorities and does a u turn for home turf.
Ah well, reds will look nicer on him anyhow.
Gotta get used to the color sometime.

Wanna bet he gets a stiffer sentence for not showing up than he does for the crimes he committed before hand?

Life in prison is going to be hard. The universal rule is not to mess with kids. That’s not just folklore

The inmates will handle him better than any of us.

Who is getting life in prison?

I am just left shaking my head at this sentence. I just don’t understand it at all. This was the last chance for anyone to stand up for this little boy and his life….To say you mattered. What happened to you mattered. Instead you hand out laughable sentences to those responsible for what became of this poor boy.

winterfell is having trouble reading the article.

winterfell wrote: “Life in prison is going to be hard”

He did not write: “Life in prison is going to be hard.”

It is called, reading in context. … :-)

Ruez is having trouble comprehending the sentence (pun intended).

I hope he has a big nasty boyfriend in prison, he will get served justice like he should.

Yep, I meant his time in prison.

Thanks Gus.

Bear in mind there is only a verdict in this case, Cook has not been sentenced yet. That will probably happen in the next couple of weeks.

Permit me to interject;
Context, oh context, where fore art thou, context?
My lunchkit for some conversational grasp of context in this modern world, ruled by the microchip!

I sincerely hope that “prison life is going to be hard”
for this Cook character.

What ever became of the 13 yr. old’s Mother?
Is she not culpable in this sordid mess?

Will there be no justice for a child who was wronged?
metalman.
