ROTFLMAO….

That is funny.

You know, it’s not a Conservative thing or a Liberal or NDP or Bloc thing, it’s a political thing.

Once these characters get into office, they treat the public purse like their own personal slush fund.

It’s not different on our city council or school board either.

And when they talk about “hard-working” politicians (eg. Pat Bell recently), my response is, compare them to the guy in the woods who gets up at 4 a.m. and works outside in all kinds of weather. Hard work is expected of him.

Or the small-businesswoman (keeping this fair to both sexes!) who spends 70 or 80 hours a week to keep her business open. She can’t afford to work any less diligently or the business goes broke.

The travel expenses of politicians is one of the largest perks of the job and is one of the hardest to get them to come clean on.

Well, it most certainly is a Conservative or Liberal thing. Neither the NDP nor the Bloc have anyone appointed as a senator, so it couldn’t be anything to do with them. Still, don’t let that inconvenient fact stop you from tarring everyone with the same opportunistic brush.

Wait a minute. Are you saying that the NDP don’t have their noses in the trough as well?

How is that possible, considering they have no members in the Senate? Since there are no NDP senators, how can they be at the trough?

No ammonara, they just get visiting Professorships that pay better than snoozing in the Senate Chambers.

The trough extends well past the senate. Take a look at Saint Jack, he sure as heck didn’t turn down any of the perks.

As I thought, no possibility of NDP involvement, but do anything to drag them in anyway. How pathetic!

Comprehension is not your strong suit is it? The comment you initially spouted off about mentioned nothing about the senate. I’d suggest going back and reading jetstream’s comment.

It is safe to say however that when the NDP are at the “trough”, unlike the Torys and Liberals, they do tend to spill a little for the common folks. :)

f-150, one could interprete that comment a couple of ways; A) the NDP would intentionally slosh some gravy over the sides of the trough to feed the starving masses, a.k.a. sharing with the people, or,
B) the NDP, finally given a chance to bathe in gravy, would make such pigs of themselves that commoners could line up for a few free ladles of munificence.
a.k.a. feeding frenzy.
All in good fun here;)
metalman.

On the contrary, Axman, I comprehended the cartoon very well. The article is about Pamela Wallin’s excessive expenses. You do comprehend that she is a Senator in the Canadian Senate, don’t you, and the cartoon and subject of the article is the Senate?

Had to google “munificence”
Now I know where the Liberals came up with their name.
Munificence towards their Crony Capitalist buddies.
Thanks Metalman

@ ammonra – it is myopic vision like yours that keeps our country in debt. I specifically stated that the problem is not a partisan one, but involves every politician, left, right or upside down. I don’t belong to any political party for precisely that reason.

You trying to paint the NDPers as somehow above all the graft and corruption only reveals your:
a) ignorance
b) partisan leanings
c) willful effort of deception

Axman suggested you go back and read my first comment. You might want to take him up on that advice. It might even help your comprehension skills.

To Jetstream: I think this thread has nothing to do with debt so why you would introduce it confuses me, unless you are just taking another opportunity to blast a group who have nothing to do with it. The NDP has never formed government federally so they cannot be responsible for the federal debt, now can they? Talk about your three revelations. I think you should look in a mirror.

This thread has to do with abuse of the senate expenses for individual senators. I repeat, there are no NDP or Bloc senators, so the intent of the cartoon could not possibly refer to them. I would also note that just because you express an opinion does not mean I must kowtow to it. I have a mind of my own and it does not agree with yours. I repeat, it is a Conservative and Liberal thing since they are the only parties with senators.
