Thursday, February 28, 2013 @ 11:11 AM
Prince George, B.C.- A woman is in custody following a string of violent attacks in the City of Prince George.

RCMP say the first call came just before 7 pm on Tuesday evening, when someone reported hearing screams in a parking lot in the Queensway-Patricia Boulevard area. A 63 year old woman was clearing snow off her vehicle when she was assaulted by a woman who then tried to steal the vehicle. The victim managed to fend off the attack, the suspect fled on foot.

About 8:15,   RCMP officers were called to a residence on Queensway where a man had been stabbed after letting a woman into his home. The 71 year old man was taken to hospital with none life threatening injuries. The  attacker fled the scene before police were called. In this case, the description of the suspect was similar to that of the one alleged to have attacked the woman in a nearby parking lot.

While still investigating the stabbing, there was a report of an attempted home invasion robbery in the same neighbourhood. Police went to the Patricia Boulevard residence and found an uninjured 78 year old woman,  who said the suspect had come into the residence through an unlocked back door. The suspect tried to steal the victim’s purse. The victim was not injured.  Again the description of the suspect was similar to that given in the two previous attacks.

Over the noon hour yesterday, RCMP Officers   located and arrested a 25 year old woman, formerly from Takla Landing.

Carmelita Louise Abraham has been charged with :
Aggravated Assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

Police say further charges are possible. The investigation into the attacks continues.
