Prince George, B.C. – The Air quality advisory remains in effect for Prince George, because of high levels of dust.
The provincial air quality objective for fine particles, PM2.5, is 25 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 19 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site and 17 µg/m3 at College Heights at 4 pm today.
The provincial air quality objective for coarse particles, PM10, is 50 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 76 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown, 34 µg/m3 at College Heights and 47 µg/m3 at BCR at 4 pm today.
Based on the data, the high levels are mainly due to road dust in the bowl area.
Light winds and dry conditions as well as clear skies will continue to contribute to dust accumulating in the air shed again this evening. Air quality is expected to be better at higher elevations.
Lower levels of particulates are expected to continue late this afternoon but higher levels are expected to develop again later this evening and tomorrow morning. There is also a possibility of high odour level occurring on Saturday morning.
The advisory will be updated tomorrow morning at 10:30

So here we have a few days of air quality advisory and a business I know on the Hart Highway keeps on pumping out woodsmoke even though they have other means to heat their building.Boo!
Spruceland Mall parking lot looked like a dustbowl too.
City roads are the biggest polluter. What are they doing about it????
Council will have to go to china to get some answers and then come back and raise our taxes. Gotta love Prince George.
