Saturday, March 9, 2013 @ 4:00 AM

Prince George, BC – Prince George RCMP are on the hunt for an early morning shopper who didn’t wait for a local sports store to open before kickstarting his cycling season…

A Police Services Dog was brought in to assist with a break in at the Sport Chek store at Pine Centre Mall early Wednesday morning, but a search of the area failed to locate the suspect who seems to have made a pedal-powered getaway.

Media Relations Officer, Corporal Craig Douglass, says a review of surveillance video, and a check of inventory, suggests that one mountain bike was stolen by a single suspect. (photo at right)

Corporal Douglass says the image in the video is not high quality, but police are hoping someone might recognize the suspect whose described as a slim male, wearing dark clothing and a white hood.

The mountain bike is a green Jamis Dakar XCT 2.  It has full suspension, 27 speeds and hydraulic disc brakes and is similar to the one pictured at right.  (courtesy PG RCMP)

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the local Detachment at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Well that’s an incriminating picture,Lol.

Heu Sport Chek, the 70’s called – they want thier camera back

The bike ha probably already been sold for $50 and drugs purchased.

And yes, Sport Chek… get some better cameras!

Better cameras,eh? How about the cameras that took the pictures of Saturn’s moons a couple of years ago? They oughta work. How about a full time minimum wage nerd walking the floor with his Instamatic? Could work better.

Hey, I know that dude,,,wait a minute,,ah…nope ,,not him,,the blurry picture threw me off. Sorry

You never know… Body shape and just a photo of the way someone walks could trigger someone to recognize this person… Not as much as an actual high def camera, however. Yes, SportChek needs an updated camera. I bet now they will invest in that.
