Freezing Rain and Heavy Snowfall Warnings

Thursday, March 14, 2013 @ 9:18 AM
Prince George, B.C.- The snowfall warning continues for Prince George, with another 10 to 20 centimetres of snow expected by Friday morning. There is an added problem with a freezing rain warning being issued.

The worst of the freezing rain is along highway97 south of Prince George to Quesnel, where schools have been closed for the day because of the poor road conditions caused by the feezing rain.

As of 9:15 this morning, all arrivals and departures   at Prince George Airport are on schedule, but check with your airline to make sure. You can also check the arrivals/departures list at YXS by clicking here

Be careful out there everyone, drive with care and be respectful of other drivers.

Excited about the snow because it means we will have enough for skiing until the end of March and glad I do not have to drive any distance in today’s snow.

Winter isn’t over yet. Sure has been a mild one this year.

Did I mention that winter sucks?

ProCannabis, have you been smoking something? Have you been to the Hart lately. Glaciers are forming. I guess you are right though, it is a bit milder, no big -30 stretches.

avalanche warnings on the Hart haha

I drove south today. By the time I got to Hixon, there was no fresh snow. Quesnel and beyond, no snow on roofs and very little on the fields. Roads south of Quesnel are dry. Lowest gas in 100 mile house at around $1.18, same as a few weeks ago.

By the time I got close to Hope, the rain started and never ended till the coast.
