Fatal Crash North of Quesnel

Quesnel, B.C. – One person has died in collision on Highway 97, about 7kms north of Quesnel.
RCMP say a tow truck was working in the area of Norn Road, just south of the 10 Mile Lake turnoff this morning, which cause southbound traffic on highway 97 to back up.
One of the vehicles stuck on the south bound line up, pulled out into the north bound lane in order to get around the line of traffic. That vehicle collided with a north bound pick up.
A passenger in the southbound vehicle died in the crash.
Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic, North District Collision Analyst, and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate. The highway is closed to all traffic in both directions and DriveBC is reporting the only route around the crash site is Highway 26 to Schemenauer Road and McLean Road to Highway 97.
Weather and road conditions are less than desirable, and the RCMP are asking the public to drive for the conditions of the road.
Anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or has any information pertaining to the collision is asked to call the RCMP or Crime stoppers.

every time it snows…. so sad
driving in the wrong lane to get around traffic – good grief. Same result if it was bare and dry…
Too bad for the passenger. The driver should be charged with criminal negligence causing death!
No, the driver should be charged with murder. The charged stuck in Olds, Alberta, and the dirt bag was convicted if 2nd degree murder with no chance of parole for 14 years!
How tragic. May this serve as a reminder to everyone to slow down. My heart goes out to all involved. Even the driver of the vehicle, for no matter what fine or punishment is imposed, he will have to carry the weight if his guilt for the rest of his life.
Probably one of those terrible drivers from PG
Cheers
Tragic, but stupid. The driver caused the death of a friend or loved one, I assume.
For the sake of a minute or two, someone died.
