Friday, March 22, 2013 @ 10:51 AM
Prince George, B.C. – John Bowman is stepping down as President of the College of New Caledonia, effective the end of July.

Bowman has informed the college Board of Governors that he has accepted an appointment as President and CEO of North Island College in Courtenay. He leaves CNC July 31st and begins his new job in August. The CNC board will discuss an interim and long-term president transition plan at its April 26th meeting.

Bowman joined CNC as Regional Director of the Quesnel campus in 1998. He became Vice-President Student Services at the Prince George campus in 2004 and President of CNC in 2007. He says “I have enjoyed my 15 years working at the college in Prince George and Quesnel. CNC is a great institution, employing many outstanding people across the college region with a strong commitment to students success and community service.” Bowman continues “I am proud of the progress and achievements that have occurred during the time I have been at CNC.”

Board chair Bob Murray says “Obviously we are sad to see him go and he will be missed, but it is good for John’s career and future. John has done excellent work on strategic planning, First Nations initiatives and striking a balance between all of CNC’s campuses.”

John Bowman is a class act. This is a big loss for PG.
This community better get their act together as the good ones are leaving rapidly.

Exactly right!

What are the retention plans that IPG has, the City has, the Chamber has, the larger firms have? Do they work together or are they paying lip service to the issue?

What is the current level of the stepping stone scenario that this city plays now compared to the past 50 year period, for instance?

“What are the retention plans that IPG has”
IPG plans to retain a million bucks a year – hows that for a plan? ;)

:-)

Well they have a plan, give us all a million and we could deveope two plans while n a warm beach in Mexico, get more out of it in the long run

CNC is also issuing layoff notices.
Letters have been sent.
What’s up with that??

Time for a change at C N C

Maybe the new guy they hire will do the job for 100k instead of 200k. That should help them with the budget!
