Dust Advisory Over
Wednesday, March 27, 2013 @ 9:45 AM
Prince George, B.C.- The Dust Advisory for Prince George is over, for now. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average has dropped below objective levels this morning, but with dry conditions expected over the next couple of days, there may be a chance that dust levels will build up again later in the week and another advisory may be issued at that time.
The provincial air quality objective for PM10 is 50 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 41 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown, 14 µg/m3 at College Heights and 34 µg/m3 at BCR at 9 this morning.
The provincial air quality objective for PM2.5 is 25 micrograms per cubic metre, averaged over 24 hours. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 8 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site and 5 µg/m3 at College Heights at 9 this morning.
The end of the advisory means the Free Fare for Clean Air, free rides on Prince George Transit will end at midnight tonight.

Dust Advisory Over. Have they checked the BC Air Quality site at Plaza 400 recently?
cheers
:)
If they would start cleaning the street a bit it would be nice!
Is there (there should be) a bylaw that requires businesses to sweep and clear their lots by a certain date? In my opinion, Home Depot is a terrible corporate citizen when it comes to that. The air quality around that area is horrendous with their lot dirt and dust swirling around once it starts to dry out. They are the last company to clean their lot (at least in this area) – and I’ve been watching the last couple of years. They wait and wait and hope their mountains of snow melt before doing any cleaning whereas other places remove their piles and sweep. I will not shop there until the lot is cleaned.
