Vernon, B.C. – Two people are dead, another two in hospital following a crash on Highway 97  north of the  Bailey Road turn off.

Vernon RCMP say  the crash involved a pick up truck and a car,  and occured  around 1:45 this afternoon.

The North Okanagan Traffic Services Unit has taken over this investigation, the Highway will remain closed in both directions while they continue to investigate and determine the cause of this crash.Traffic is being rerouted around the crash site by secondary roads.

There is no  information at this time on the ages, genders or home towns of those involved in this grash.
