Northern Linen is now Spotless Northern Linen – photo 250News
Prince George, B .C. – There has been a major change at Northern Linen.
The dry cleaning service that has been a family operation since 1945, has been bought out by Spotless Uniform, the other drycleaning service in P.G. that has generations of family involvement.
For the time being, both operations are working side by side, but independently out of the Northern Linen plant on Highway 97. Office Manager Ashley Jago says eventually the two operations will merge.
There have been some casualties of the merger, as 5 employees were laid off to reduce redundancies in operations. Jago says one has since returned. “We didn’t know for certain just how many people would be needed under the new operation, so two have since returned.”
The change over took effect on Friday, March 29th.
For the time being, Jago says the new operation is being called Spotless Northern Linen, but it is likely it will eventually be changed to Spotless Uniform.

Slow day in news?
Most definitely slow day in news.
I wish the old owners a happy retirement!
Why would this sale be considered a slow news day. A company that has been owned by the same family since 1945 is sold. I find that interesting and a tick in PG history.
If the Northern was sold would that announcement here be considered a slow news day?
First the coal mine in Chetwynd and now this. Is it any coincidence that the HST was removed just the other day?
Lemme get my tin foil beanie and channel my inner matty…. :)
Seamutt;
I think you have the date wrong , I think the family started the company in about l960. I could be wrong. When I was young and lived in the bowl area of the city I remember the Dad delivering dry cleaning for a company untill he started his own company. I also remember the late Mr. Johnson the bread man who delivered our bread and the best cookies ever. We even had a milk man. We have a lot of history in Prince George. The photo of the aircraft in the Citizen on page 17, has history I know that for a fact,my Grandfather took it.
I used the date in the article.
Bitter & Seamutt;
Glad to see you both ironed it out :)
Huh!
Slow news day for this story? If 2 oil comanies in Calgary became one, would make national and possibly international news. Good that a local company brought it out instead of an outsider.
Hey its local news regarding two P.G. companies that have been around a long time, why not?
