Prince George,. B.C. – Five Prince George Fire fighters are hoping for some good weather this weekend, and they will be spending it camped out on the roof of the Canadian Tire building at Domano and Highway 16 west in Prince George.
Shane Lapierre will be joined by fellow fire fighters Wayne Weis, Clayton Sheen, Mike Stachoski and Jeremy Kostyshyn in the weekend event to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy.
“We will be heading up to the roof on Friday around 11:30 in the morning, and will come back down on Sunday at noon” says Lapierre. They will be travelling light says Lapierre “Basically, all we will be bringing to the roof is our sleeping bags and pillows.”
The idea is to have folks pledge funds for the full weekend roof camp-out. As an added incentive, the public is invited to a couple of bar-b-ques at the Canadian Tire on Friday and Saturday where, for a donation, they can get a hot dog.
“Last year, once we tallied up all the money that was donated and the proceeds from the bar b ques, we raised about $12 thousand dollars, and we are pretty sure we can do that again” says Lapierre.
But ’till they have to climb the ladder on Friday morning……they are watching the forecast. Right now, it looks like they will have to pack some snow and rain gear in addition to some thermal underwear, the forecast is as follows:
Friday Periods of snow. Low minus 5. High zero.
Saturday Cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries or rain showers. Low minus 3. High 6.
Sunday Cloudy with 30 percent chance of showers. Low minus 2. High 11.

Wachted the Rick Mercer show last night and its amazing how we are teacing our children to give to those less fortunate then them selves..
Makes one wonder why our children have to to give where are our governments that shoud be providing for the unfortunatley poor.
Wonder if we will ever be able to get governments and their freinds out of the trough so that we can provide for basic nessesities.
Cheers
