Kitimat Fire was Act of Arsonist
Kitimat, B.C.- Tuesday night’s late night blaze at the old Aluminum City Motel in Kitimat was deliberately set.
Kitimat RCMP and Kitimat Fire Department responded to the fire just after 11 p.m on Tuesday night to the abandoned motel site on Dadook Avenue.
The Motel consisted of a number of small cabins which had been abandoned for over 10 years. One of the cabins was fully engulfed in flames and emergency crews were able to contain the fire before spreading to any other cabins.
RCMP and Fire Crews confirmed that no one was located in the cabins nor was anyone injured at the site. The area is well known to the local youth who often hang out at the site.
RCMP have determined that the fire was deliberately set and are continuing to investigate the scene as an arson.
