Firefighters Get Boost From Premier
Prince George Mayor Shari Green, BC Attorney-General Shirley Bond, and Premier Christy Clark help PG Fire Rescue kickstart the 2nd Annual Rooftop Campout for Muscular Dystrophy
Prince George, BC – It’s a cold day for a camp-out, but Premier Christy Clark did her part to warm the hearts of the five firefighters heading up to the rooftop of Canadian Tire for their 2nd annual outdoor fundraiser for muscular dystrophy…
The Premier stopped by the kick-off to PG Fire Rescue’s 48-hour campaign to make a personal pledge of $100 towards their efforts. Clark joked that she was in Prince George for the first snowfall of the season – her birthday, last October 29th. "And I feel like it’s my birthday all over again."
On a more serious note, she thanked firefighters in the city and around the province for putting their lives on the line every single day and commended the group taking part in the campout for such a worthy cause. The five men – Shane Lapierre, Wayne Weis, Clayton Sheen, Mike Stachoski, and Jeremy Kostyshyn – are the same individuals who volunteered to participate in last year’s fundraiser.
As was the case last year, local MLA Shirley Bond sent them to the rooftop with a basket of goodies she hoped would serve them well over the weekend. She included games this year, but said the water guns were likely to be of no use this weekend – with the temperature at a chilly minus-6.
BC’s Attorney-General matched the Premier’s pledge, as did Mayor Shari Green. So the rooftop donation tally already sits at $300.
The Premier is in Prince George to speak at the COFI Convention.

Wow deep pockets from the three of them.
of course you only made this comment because you out contributed them ….. because otherwise it would be just petty
The 3 guys on the right have some pretty deep pockets :-)
Ever notice that Crispy likes to attend photo ops because she doesn’t have to answer potentially hard questions. She apparently copped out of a town hall meeting in her own riding this week. By the way, just what is the “New” liberal party platform? Lets be honest now.
Looking at such a dorky expression on every one of their faces…it’s hard to remember that all three of those women can outstink the Zalm, Glen Clark and Gordo in the odiferous politics department.
So how much is one of those jackets worth ? I assume the tax-payers of PG paid for the jackets.
Photo ops, photo ops election coming.
Can’t Opinion 250 “ambush” Chief Sheri for a comment on anything? Happens elsewhere.
Photo ops happen all the time, election of not. You can count on photo ops almost as much as the inane comments on here about them.
True JB, but to be fair, now we should buy PG Firefighter jackets for all the candidates. Did you note their names are embroidered on the right sleeve ?
Names on clothing kinda like strings on mittens through yer sleeves to insure no loss?
