18 Year Old Charged in Police Impersonating Case
Prince George, B.C.- RCMP have released more information on the arrest of a suspect in the police impersonator case.
Last week, police reported two instances in the Foothills-First Avenue area where drivers were pulled over by what they believed to be an unmarked police vehicle with flashing red and blue lights. In one case a woman was asked for money or a sexual favour in order to avoid losing her licence.
Police now say they are aware of a third incident. This time, a 22 year old Prince George male was pulled over on Foothills near 15th Avenue. A male suspect approached the vehicle and requested a Driver’s Licence, then told the driver he committed a traffic violation and requested $20 from the victim in order to avoid getting a ticket. The victim paid and the suspect left the scene.
The police investigation lead to the arrest of an 18 year old Prince George man, the vehicle he was driving has been seized, and a search warrant was executed on a residence on St. Patrick Avenue. That search resulted in the recovery of red and blue lights believed to have been used in the offences.
Raafay Shezad is now facing two counts of extortion and two counts of impersonating a Peace Officer.
Further charges are being considered.
Shezad has been released from custody under strict conditions which will remain inp place at least until his next court appearance which is scheduled for April 24th.

Glad they caught the little creep. Hopefully he gets to learn that the same trick won’t work to his advantage in prison.
